A favourable situation for employment
With an unemployment rate of 5.4% (ranked 5th nationally) in the fourth quarter of 2007, Haute-Savoie is among the most dynamic departments in terms of employment.

Even though the number of industrial jobs is declining, it has been offset by the creation of service jobs. It is also worth noting that there was less of a decrease in the number of industry jobs in 2007 than in 2006.
